YARN USED

These chunky crochet baby booties were worked up using James C. Brett Flutterby Chunky, a wonderfully soft and cosy chenille yarn.

I loved using this brand – so much so that I designed a hooded cardigan, and a baby teddy hat using this super soft yarn!

There’s also a matching baby blanket to go with the set (made with the super chunky version).

I’m sure you’ll enjoy working with this yarn just as much as I did. And I’m sure you’ll love the colour selection on offer also… the variety of pastel shades is simply gorgeous.

PATTERN NOTES
  • US crochet terminology used throughout.
  • There are instructions for three sizes – newborn, 0-3 months and 3-6 months.
  • The bootie is made in rounds.
  • The ch1 at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch. Therefore, you should make the first stitch of the round in the same stitch (at the base of the ch1).
  • As the ch1 at the beginning of rounds does not count as a stitch, you should join the round by making a slip stitch into the very first stitch of the round.
  • When counting the total number of stitches at the end of each round, please be careful not to include the ch1 in the final stitch count.
  • For beginners, it will be helpful to place a stitch marker in the first stitch made at the beginning of each round to ensure that you slip stitch into this particular stitch when joining at the end of the round.
